No case studies are published yet.
This first release establishes the editorial structure before publishing accounts about real people or organizations. The project will not publish an accusation about a named organization or individual without source material, careful attribution, and a meaningful opportunity to respond.
Required structure
Every future case study must answer eight questions.
Section 01
What the program promised
The service, process, placement, assistance, or outcome described to the participant, with its source identified.
Section 02
What governing records required
The relevant verified contract, policy, procedure, plan, or other controlling record—without implying a legal conclusion.
Section 03
What happened
A dated account that distinguishes documented events from attributed participant reports.
Section 04
What documentation exists
An inventory of reviewed records, their source, and the specific point each record supports.
Section 05
What remains unverified
Missing records, contested statements, gaps in the sequence, and questions the available evidence cannot answer.
Section 06
The housing consequence
The lost opportunity, increased instability, unsafe choice, interrupted assistance, or other reported and documented outcome.
Section 07
The organization’s response
A fair presentation of the response, nonresponse, correction, or dispute from every identifiable organization discussed.
Section 08
Current status
Whether the issue is unresolved, corrected, disputed, under review, or otherwise changed since the events described.
Visible evidence labels
Readers should always know what kind of statement they see.
- Documented
- Supported by an identified record reviewed for the case study.
- Reported
- Attributed to the person or source who described the event; not presented as independently verified.
- Disputed
- Material accounts conflict, with each position and its source identified.
- Unverified
- Available material does not yet establish the point, or a necessary source has not been obtained.
- Organization Response
- The relevant organization’s attributed answer, context, correction, or stated position.
- Resolution Pending
- The matter remains open, under review, or without a verified final outcome.
Publication safeguards
Human stories require restraint.
- Publish only details needed to understand the administrative sequence and housing consequence.
- Remove or limit medical, identifying, and third-party information.
- Do not turn a participant’s account into an independently verified fact without supporting evidence.
- Present an organization’s response with fair context and label unresolved disputes.
- Correct substantive errors and update the current status when new verified information changes the account.
